Position Summary
The AR/AP Clerk plays a vital role in maintaining the financial health of our growing organization by managing accounts receivable and accounts payable functions. Initially, this position will focus primarily on accounts receivable responsibilities, with increasing accounts payable duties as the candidate demonstrates proficiency and builds their track record. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Other duties may be assigned as the company continues to grow and evolve.
Accounts Receivable (Primary Focus Initially)
Review invoices for accuracy prior to billing, ensuring quality in every transaction
Prepares invoice additions and corrections as necessary
Responds to customer billing inquiries with professionalism and excellent customer service
Prints all accounts receivable reports and maintains organized AR files
Monitors outstanding receivables and follows up on past due accounts
Assists in monthly closings with attention to detail and deadlines
Accounts Payable (Progressive Responsibility)
Enter AP Invoices with or without PO to correct ticket or account
Reviews and balances monthly statements
Responds to vendor inquiries professionally and promptly
Prepare accounts payable payments according to company procedures
Prints all accounts payable reports and maintains organized AP files
Prepare analysis of accounts as required
General Administrative Support
Promptly and professionally answers telephone calls and directs callers to the appropriate party
Maintains confidentiality of sensitive financial information
Assists with filing, special projects, and other administrative duties as necessary
Supports company growth initiatives through accurate financial record-keeping

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in a growing, service-oriented company is a plus.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence clearly and professionally. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, vendors, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent with accuracy and efficiency.

Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of or ability to learn:
QuickBooks and Aspire (or similar accounting software)
Microsoft Office 365
General aptitude for learning new technology platforms to support company growth
