Your Role:
As a Diagnostic Technician at AutoMed, you will be responsible for diagnosing and troubleshooting complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues in a variety of vehicles. You will work closely with our service advisors and technicians to ensure all diagnoses are accurate, and that repair recommendations are clear and precise. You must be detail-oriented, a problem-solver, and committed to delivering high-quality customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough diagnostics on vehicles, identifying issues related to the engine, transmission, electrical systems, braking, and more.
- Use specialized diagnostic equipment and software to identify and troubleshoot issues in vehicles.
- Provide accurate and detailed repair recommendations to the service advisor.
- Work collaboratively with the technician team to ensure effective diagnosis and repair.
- Document all diagnostic procedures, findings, and repairs in the shop management system.
- Stay up to date on the latest diagnostic tools, technologies, and repair techniques.
- Maintain high-quality standards for vehicle repairs while ensuring timely completion of jobs.
- Communicate effectively with service advisors and customers to provide accurate status updates.
- Participate in continuing education to stay current on the latest automotive technologies.
- Ensure that all safety and environmental regulations are followed.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience as an automotive technician.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle diagnostic equipment and automotive systems.
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems, diagnostic tools, and repair techniques.
- ASE certifications are a plus; a passion for learning is essential.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
