PCU Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Greensboro, NC (zip 27401) – North Carolina healthcare jobs
• Unit: 5 West Medical Progressive Care Unit (34 beds, all telemetry monitored)
• Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (7:00pm – 7:30am)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Assignment Duration: 12 weeks (Start: 9/9/2025 – End: 12/2/2025)
• Weekend & Holiday Rotation: Required
• Floating: May float to other campuses/units as needed
• Charting System: Epic EMR
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1820-$1870

PCU RN Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing experience (first-time travel nurses welcome)
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – North Carolina or compact state (must be in hand at submission)
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Proficient in cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmia management
• Experience with Epic charting system
• Must pass EKG exam during compliance (2 attempts allowed)
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Education verification and background check required
• No local candidates accepted (must reside outside 50-mile radius of Greensboro, NC)

PCU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients with diverse diagnoses: stroke, renal disorders, sepsis, endocrine, GI, and hematological conditions
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and manage dysrhythmias
• Manage peripheral and PICC lines, titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, and administer blood products
• Provide wound care, tracheostomy management, and non-invasive airway support
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, respiratory, physical therapy, pharmacy, rapid response)
• Maintain patient safety and adhere to attendance and compliance policies
• Float to other units or campuses as required
