Med/Surg Tele RN Job Details

• Location: Winston Salem, NC 27103 (North Carolina healthcare job)
• Facility Setting: Med/Surg Telemetry Unit
• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Nursing
• Assignment Length: 17 weeks (Start: 9/22/2025 – End: 1/19/2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (18:45 - 07:15), 3 shifts per week
• Total Hours: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1660 - $1700 per week
• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Orientation: 36 hours
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Float Requirement: Occasional float within hospital or affiliate hospitals
• Holiday Requirement: Must work 2 out of 3 major winter holidays
• Scrub Colors: Navy blue or white

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active North Carolina or Compact RN license (required at start)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
• BLS certification (required)
• Proficiency with Epic electronic charting system
• Clinical skills: IV start, telemetry monitoring, blood product administration, central line care/management, dysrhythmia interpretation, isolation precautions, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, peripheral line care/management, rapid response team participation
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Ability to float to other units as needed
• Strong teamwork and communication skills

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients recovering from surgeries (colorectal, general surgery, hepatobiliary, orthopedics/spine)
• Monitor and interpret telemetry readings for patient safety
• Initiate and manage IVs and central lines
• Administer blood products and medications as ordered
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic
• Adhere to hospital call-off and behavioral policies
• Participate in self-scheduling and block scheduling as approved by unit manager
• Float to other units or affiliate hospitals as required
