Director, Data Management and Analytics

THE ROLE:
Xylem is seeking a Director, Data Management and Analytics to lead the enterprise strategy for data architecture, data integration, governance, and advanced analytics. This leader will shape and execute the vision for managing data as a strategic asset and enabling the organization’s AI & Analytics objectives. The Director will partner closely with business and technical stakeholders to ensure data is discoverable, trusted, compliant, and positioned to accelerate digital transformation.
In this role, you will oversee the design and delivery of certified data models, reports, and dashboards, while building and mentoring high-performing teams across data engineering, business intelligence, and analytics.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enterprise Data Strategy & Architecture
- Define and implement enterprise-wide data management strategies aligned to Xylem’s business goals, technology roadmap, and AI & Analytics objectives
- Design and maintain scalable, reusable data architecture supporting cross-functional use cases
- Ensure seamless data integration across the application landscape
Data Governance & Quality
- Establish and manage data governance policies, processes, and standards
- Implement data profiling, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation practices
- Define and monitor KPIs to ensure data accuracy, consistency, trust, and reliability
- Ensure metadata management, cataloging, and lineage transparency
Analytics Enablement & Delivery
- Design and develop certified data models for use by citizen developers
- Develop scalable, user-friendly certified reports and dashboards
- Translate business requirements into operational analytics capabilities
- Partner with Program Management to align and deliver target AI & Analytics outcomes
Security, Compliance & Risk Mitigation
- Implement scalable security architectures enforcing least-privilege access
- Ensure regulatory compliance across data handling and analytics platforms
- Collaborate with cybersecurity and compliance teams to mitigate enterprise risk
Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Build, lead, and mentor high-performing data engineering, BI, and analytics teams
- Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and data literacy
- Partner with IT, cybersecurity, compliance, and business leaders to ensure data initiatives are aligned and fully integrated
- Perform additional duties as required based on organizational needs
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in data management and analytics roles, including 5+ years in leadership positions
- Expertise in data modeling, architecture, ETL, and analytics
- Strong experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred) and modern data tools (Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Power BI)
