Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to design and deliver scalable, end-to-end data solutions for business problems of varying complexity. The ideal candidate will translate business requirements into technical solutions, define data architecture, and ensure high-quality implementation aligned with enterprise standards. This role is ideal for experienced data engineers with strong GCP, Spark/Scala, and SQL expertise , looking to build scalable data solutions in a fast-paced enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop end-to-end data solutions for business and enterprise needs
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and architecture
• Build and optimize data pipelines and ETL processes using modern data technologies
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure scalable, reliable, and high-performance solutions
• Lead development of integrated data applications and reusable frameworks
• Ensure data quality, observability, and governance compliance
• Develop and enforce testing strategies including unit, integration, and UAT support
• Collaborate with data science teams to enable model deployment and scalability
• Work with data governance teams on data retention, privacy, and security policies
• Participate in infrastructure and platform decisions including build vs buy
• Analyze trade-offs involving cost, scalability, performance, and risk
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to planning and estimation activities

Required Skills (Top 3):

• Strong expertise in SQL
• Hands-on experience with Spark & Scala
• Experience with GCP Big Data technologies

Technical Skills:

• Big Data & Cloud: GCP, BigQuery

• Workflow Orchestration: Airflow
• Version Control & CI/CD: GitHub, Bitbucket, Jenkins
• Data Visualization: Looker Studio Pro, LookML

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with LookML / LSP
• Proficiency in Python

Mandatory Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, CIS, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering / data warehousing / ETL / software engineering
• 4+ years of experience in SDLC and solution implementation
• 5+ years of experience in SQL, object-oriented programming, and scripting
• 5+ years of experience with big data technologies
• 3+ years of experience with GCP cloud-based data platforms
