Position OverviewThe Junior Mechanic supports the build and assembly of vehicle platforms and sub-systems for MSI's customers. This role is focused on executing standardized assembly tasks in a production environment and is distinct from a Vehicle Assembly Mechanic role-there is minimal troubleshooting or repair work involved.This position works closely with experienced mechanics, engineers, and supervisors to assemble components accurately and efficiently to meet production schedules.The Junior Mechanic reports to the Shop Floor Supervisor and is a full-time, on-site position in Mooresville, NC. Production hours are Monday through Thursday, 6:00am–4:30pm, with flexibility for additional hours as needed to meet project deadlines.Key ResponsibilitiesAssemble vehicle components and sub-systems according to work instructions, drawings, and specificationsInstall brackets, mounts, panels, and other mechanical componentsFollow step-by-step assembly processes to support vehicle buildsUse basic hand and power tools safely and effectivelySupport team members in vehicle builds and production activitiesMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work areaIdentify and communicate any issues with parts, fitment, or instructions to supervisorsFollow all safety procedures and quality standardsBe flexible and support different assembly tasks as production needs change Skills and Qualifications RequiredHigh School Diploma or equivalent.Possess a bias for action and the aptitude required to efficiently prioritize and execute tasksAbility to follow instructions, procedures, and basic technical drawingsExperience using hand tools and basic mechanical toolsStrong attention to detail and willingness to learnAbility to work effectively in a team environmentDependable and able to maintain consistent attendanceProven experience in assembly of vehicle components and vehicle sub-systemsAbility to follow established procedures and practices; read instructions, and blueprints etc.A strong commitment to all health and safety guidelinesU.S. Citizenship is required. Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance, if required for the position.
