Building Materials Buyer

Topsider Building Systems, Inc., designers and building component fabricators has an immediate opening for an experienced building materials buyer. Topsider is a manufacturer, not a builder or construction firm.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum five (5) years professional purchasing experience in a production-oriented construction environment, building prefabrication, or job shop-based manufacturing setting.
• PAST EXPERIENCE IN BUILDING MATERIALS PURCHASING IS A REQUIREMENT. (Purchased items include: lumber, plywood, OSB, laminated beams and timbers, siding, insulation, structural steel, fasteners, windows, doors, decking, flooring, cabinets & countertops, freight, etc.).
• College degree or equivalent experience.
• High level of proficiency in Excel.
• Solid organizational skills.

SALARY : $65k to start, based on qualifications and experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Purchasing materials and interface with vendors on pricing, specifications, etc.
• New vendors and product research.
• Coordination of logistics for receiving all purchased materials for manufacturing, stock or reshipment to clients.
• Monitoring and maintaining stock item inventory levels.
• Coordinating purchased items specifications with technical and manufacturing staffs.
• Daily handling of purchase orders, shipping and receiving paperwork flow, including resolution of associated invoicing quantity and/or quality issues.
