Adjunct EMS Instructor
The pay scale for this position is as following:

| Supplement Pay Adjustments
| NC OEMS Level 1 Instructors: Add $1.00 dollars to instructors’ hourly pay rate
| NC OEMS Level 2 Instructors: Add $2.00 dollars to instructors’ hourly pay rate
- Please note that this is an ongoing job posting. We may or may not currently be hiring for this position. Candidates will be contacted as positions become available and are needed.
- Credentialed as EMT, Advanced-EMT, or Paramedic in good standing with state OEMS (Office of Emergency Medical Services).
- At least 2 years of active EMS field experience (education may substitute for years of experience).
- Proven knowledge of the subject and appropriate educational credentials.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Google Workspace and other software tools.
- Ability to work in a diverse environment.
- Level 1 or 2 Instructor credential through OEMS.
- AHA Instructor credentials in BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
- EMS Vehicle Operator Safety (EVOS) instructor or equivalent driving course Instructor approved by OEMS.
- Additional EMS-Specific Instructor certifications.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in emergency medical science or related field.
- Successful teaching or training experience.
- Familiarity with the on-line platform EMS testing and Platinum Planner.
- Familiarity with the on-line platform Blackboard.
- Teach classes as assigned by EMS Program Director and EMS Coordinator.
- Deliver instructional activities that are both appropriate and meaningful.
- Adhere to departmental course guidelines and cover SACSCOC approved competencies.
- Prepare course outlines, objectives, and lab activities.
- Evaluate student performance and maintain all required records.
- Maintain communication with community partner agencies.
- Promote the college and the department through public relations opportunities.
- Update course descriptions, objectives, and develop new courses, as necessary.
- Assist in the development and evaluation of EMS programs.
- Maintain current professional credentials and participate in ongoing professional development.
- Assist students with program requirements and participate in college-wide advising activities.
- The employee will need to regularly operate and use computers, phones and other electronic equipment
- The employee will frequently communicate and must be able to exchange accurate information with others
- The employee may need to move around their office and/or campus to attend meetings/ classes and to access files, machinery or other job-related tools
- The employee may need to lift and/or move equipment, tools or paperwork up to 25 pounds
- The employee may need to position themselves by reaching, stooping, kneeling or crouching in order to adjust or collect equipment and/or supplies
- Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus
