- Efficiently extract semen from 250-300 turkeys per shift.
- Efficiently pick up turkeys weighing anywhere from 45 lbs. to 85 lbs.
- Efficiently herd turkeys.
- Efficiently load and unload turkeys weighing anywhere from 45 lbs. to 85 lbs.
- Manually feed the turkeys.
- Be able to work in dim/blue lighting.
- Must be able to distinguish color.
- Be able to use both hands and all fingers.
- Be able to work on one's own.
- Wash and disinfect turkey production facilities and equipment in a safe and organized manner. (sweep, wash waters)
- Check for unhealthy birds in the barns.
- Follow all of the company’s rules and regulations for biosecurity, animal welfare, and safety.
- Work productively in a team environment and be willing to help in any area to get the job done.
- Work with a variety of tools and equipment.
- Repair and/or direct the repair of the equipment as needed.
- Have the ability to push, bend, stoop, squat, pull, and lift 45lbs-85lbs.
- Successfully work with live animals.
- Organize and prioritize responsibilities to ensure efficient operations.
- Perform the duties of the job while constantly moving and using hands, occasionally lifting heavy objects while being exposed to dust, cold, humidity, heat, chemicals, and fumes.
- Work an extended work day, if needed.
- Effective time management.
- Schedule varies depending on the farm/department. Some weekends are required.
- Work on various farms if required.
- Have excellent hand-foot-eye coordination.
- Any other duty as assigned by the Farm Manager.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prior experience in poultry preferred.
- A valid Missouri Driver’s License and an acceptable motor vehicle driving record preferred.
