Leaf Vacuum Arm Truck Operator Seasonal

Responsibilities

• Operate a leaf vacuum truck equipped with a hydraulic vacuum arm to collect leaves, grass clippings, branches, and other organic debris from assigned properties.
• Drive the truck to and from residential, commercial, and other designated locations, positioning the vehicle safely and efficiently for optimal collection.
• Monitor and inspect the vacuum system, hoses, hydraulic arm, and truck equipment to ensure proper operation and report any mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly.
• Assist with loading, unloading, and proper disposal of collected landscape debris.
• Work closely with ground crew members to ensure thorough and efficient property cleanup.
• Maintain awareness of surroundings, including pedestrians, vehicles, landscaping features, and structures, to ensure safe operation at all times.
• Follow all company safety policies, traffic laws, and equipment operating procedures.
• Keep the truck, equipment, and work areas clean and organized.
• Complete required daily paperwork, inspections, and documentation accurately.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and crew members regarding job progress and equipment needs.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required.
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) may be required depending on assigned vehicle and applicable regulations.
• Experience operating commercial trucks, leaf vacuums, or similar heavy equipment preferred.
• Ability to safely operate a hydraulic vacuum arm and related equipment.
• Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials as needed.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to safety and equipment awareness.
• Dependable, punctual, and willing to work a seasonal schedule that may include early mornings, weekends, and extended hours during peak leaf season.
• Ability to sit and operate a commercial vehicle for extended periods, frequently enter and exit the truck, and perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, and climbing.
• Must be able to work around loud equipment, dust, leaves, debris, and outdoor environmental conditions.
• Must be able to safely perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
