The purpose of the Logistics Analyst is to serve as Administrative Support for the Transportation Department. The incumbent will communicate proactively with transportation carriers (Domestic and International) while being an advocate for process improvement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Daily contact with carriers regarding status of shipments, delivery issues, rerouting, etc.

• Main liaison between Transportation Department and Thomas Scientific departments as well as Vendors.

• Creation of Commercial Invoices for international shipments, research of Harmonized Codes and other Basic Import/Export Documents (COO, USMCA).

• Create shipping Documents for common carriers in an accurate and complete manner (parcel labels and Freight Bills of Lading).

• Primary support for shipping claims. Will gather all relevant data, file claims and follow up until completion. Research issues involving unpaid carrier claims and maintain a log with current status.

• Prepares and maintains scheduled reports to include Daily Shipments / Inbound Reports. Distributes reports to appropriate parties and updates Warehouse Managers of issues.

• Follows up on Carrier Service Failure based on established transit times.

• Interacts with the Warehouse as needed to assist with shipping and receiving paperwork.

• Assists with other tasks that may be requested.

• Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience required.

• Knowledge of freight industry processes and shipping systems is a plus.

• Attention to detail.

• Knowledge of Basic International Documents.

• Proactive, self-starter with excellent organizational skills required.

• Strong Business communication and interpersonal skills required.

• Intermediate skills utilizing Microsoft Windows, Excel, Outlook and Word required. Advanced Excel skills are a plus.

• Hazmat Education is a plus.

• Customer Service or Purchasing experience is a plus.

• Ability to maintain good attendance and adhere to all company policies to include the Code of Conduct / Statement of Values required.

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES :

• This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

PAY RATE:

The pay rate range for this role will be $23.00 to $30.00 per hour, and will be based upon relevant work experience as well as the regional area in which the candidate resides.
