• Job Title: Locum Tenens Registered Nurse – Med/Surg Telemetry
• Employment Type: Travel Contract (Locum Tenens)
• Location: Greensboro, NC 27403
• Healthcare Setting: Inpatient Medical/Surgical Telemetry Unit
• Shift: Night Shift, 3x12-hour shifts/week (7:00pm – 7:00am), includes rotating weekends and holidays
• Weekly Hours: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1820-$1870
• Contract Duration: 26 weeks (no short-term contracts)
• Patient Ratio: 1:5
• Start Date: September 30, 2025
• End Date: March 31, 2026
• Orientation: 16 hours
• Floating: Required between all Cone Health facilities

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience (first-time travel nurses welcome)
• Active Registered Nurse license (North Carolina or compact state; must be in hand at submission)
• BLS certification required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Previous Charge RN experience preferred
• Ability to pass EKG exam during compliance (2 attempts allowed)
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Education verification through third party required
• No local candidates accepted (must reside outside 50-mile radius of Greensboro)
• Background check with no open cases

RN Responsibilities – Medical/Surgical Telemetry

• Deliver direct patient care to adults and geriatrics with acute and chronic medical conditions
• Interpret cardiac dysrhythmias and utilize remote telemetry monitoring systems
• Administer blood products, manage peripheral and PICC lines, and initiate IVs
• Perform feeding tube care, renal failure management, and advanced wound care (including wound vac)
• Care for surgical drains, chest tubes (Emerson/Pleur-evac), and provide non-invasive airway management
• Implement isolation precautions and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, social services)
• Respond to rapid response calls and support patients with PCA and CVA
• Float to other units and Cone Health facilities as needed
