Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

• Location: Asheville, NC 28801 (North Carolina nursing jobs)
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Unit: Labor & Delivery (16-bed unit)
• Start Date: October 6, 2025
• End Date: January 5, 2026
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Shift: 12-hour nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1620 - $1660
• Scrubs Provided

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license (Registered Nurse, North Carolina or compact state)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• High-risk Labor & Delivery experience required
• Immediate newborn care skills
• Required Certifications: NRP, BLS/ALS, Advanced Fetal Monitoring
• Experience with Baxter Pumps and Phillips electronic fetal monitoring preferred
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR and Fetal ink systems is a plus
• At least 1 year of overall nursing experience required

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive care to laboring mothers and newborns in a 16-bed Labor & Delivery unit
• Manage high-risk deliveries and provide immediate newborn care
• Assist with and circulate for procedures including vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, D&C, cerclage, and C-hyst
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including charge nurses, PCTs, CSTs, and other RNs
• Float to related units as needed (MFMU, MOMB, NICU)
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Cerner EMR
• Demonstrate adaptability, strong communication, and a positive, team-oriented attitude
