Estimated Weekly Salary Range
- Weekly Salary: $1,680–$1,730 per week (estimated)
- Location: Asheville, NC 28801 (North Carolina healthcare jobs)
- Facility: Magnet-designated hospital
- Unit: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
- Assignment Length: 13-week travel nursing contract
- Start Date: October 6, 2025
- End Date: January 5, 2026
- Shift: 12-hour nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Self-scheduling available
- Unit Size: 9 beds
- Patient Ratios: 1 RN to 1-2 patients (PICU); 1 RN to 2-3 patients (Stepdown)

- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (North Carolina or compact state)
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Minimum 1 year of recent PICU nursing experience
- Ability to float to Pediatrics and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) as needed
- Experience with Cerner electronic health record system preferred
- Adherence to unit dress code: navy blue or white scrubs (or navy pants and white tops)
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
- Perform and assist with clinical procedures: IV starts, catheterizations, lumbar puncture holds, central line dressing changes, hemodynamic monitoring, tracheostomy care, tube feeding and placement, ICP monitoring, ventilator management
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Accurately document patient care using Cerner EHR system
- Support a positive patient and family experience throughout the care process
- Participate in self-scheduling and work at least 3 weekends per 6-week schedule
- Maintain compliance with all hospital policies, procedures, and clinical standards
