Clinical Scope: High-Acuity Mechanical Support
- Mechanical Circulatory Support: Proficiency with Impella, IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump), and CRRT is essential.
- Advanced Monitoring: Managing ventilators, high-acuity telemetry, and hypothermia protocols (Arctic Sun/Targeted Temperature Management).
- Ratios: Typically 2:1, with 1:1 for fresh hearts or unstable devices.
- Documentation: Cerner EMR.
Equipment Stack:
- Infusion: Baxter IV Pumps
- Circulatory: IABP, Impella, CRRT
- Respiratory: Ventilator Management
- Therapy: Hypothermia / Targeted Temperature Management
What You Bring to the Mountains
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a dedicated CVICU (Post-Op Heart experience is mandatory).
- Licensure: Active NC or Compact RN License.
- Certifications: ACLS and BLS (AHA).
