About the Role:
Advance Concrete is looking for an Estimator for our Concrete Construction Division that is a driven, detail-oriented team player. This vital role is responsible for all aspects of pre-construction including developing relationships, assessing project risk, and winning new projects for the division.
Key Job Duties:
- Help build new customer relationships and further develop existing ones.
- Review invitations to bid, evaluate potential project risks and advise on bid/no bid decisions.
- Review & interpret all bid documents including project plans, schedules, and specs.
- Develop project estimates through plan takeoffs, man hour projections, and vendor RFPs.
- Seek feedback from other team members to improve project plans and better evaluate project risks prior to submitting bids.
- Create proposals for customers based on project estimate and bid documents.
- Manage multiple bids simultaneously to meet customers’ tight bid timelines.
- Process and transition awarded project files to operations and project management team.
Ideal Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum 5 years of construction estimating experience, preferably at least 3 years in the concrete industry.
- Proficiency with Planswift or On-Screen takeoff software, Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience bidding all cast in place concrete scopes including footings, foundations, slab on grade, elevated slabs (both on deck and structural), concrete paving, and miscellaneous site concrete.
- Good communication skills especially in follow-up with customers.
- Strong work ethic and well organized.
Other Details:
- Role will involve occasional travel to project “walk-thrus”. Company will provided reimbursement for travel expenses as necessary.
- Position is full time, salaried and pay will be based on experience level.
