Description

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2+ years of L&D experience, high-risk experience, and Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification, working night shifts at a Level II trauma center in Asheville, NC.

Details

• Labor & Delivery unit in a large, 815-bed hospital that is a regional referral center, including a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, and Level III NICU
• 16-bed L&D unit staffed with charge nurses, PCTs, CSTs, and RNs on both day and night shifts
• Patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2 depending on acuity
• Procedures performed include vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, D&C, cerclage, and cesarean hysterectomy
• Equipment used includes Baxter pumps and Philips electronic fetal monitoring
• EMR system is Cerner with Fetal Ink; experience required
• Night shift schedule: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• Floating may be required to MFMU, MOMB, and NICU
• Weekends and on-call are not required but may be available upon approval
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NC RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Minimum 2 years of recent L&D experience required
• High-risk L&D experience required
• Immediate newborn care experience required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP (Advanced 9th Edition, AAP card), and Advanced Fetal Monitoring (intermediate or advanced AWHONN, or NCCEFM)
• Circulating experience preferred
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date
• AHA or ARC certifications are accepted
