Business Line Operations Leader, NAM
Business Line Leader, ELDS North America In this role, you'll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our organization as the Business Line Operations Leader, ELDS NAM. In this key leadership role, you will be responsible for leading the ELDS factories in the US & Mexico. Your primary objective will be to drive accountability in delivery performance, ensuring on-time delivery to our valued customers, while also managing the operational rigor of our factories to enhance collaboration and predictability. This role follows a hybrid work model (#LI-Hybrid), with Mebane, NC as the preferred location. However, there is flexibility to be based out of other ELDS NAM locations. The position requires approximately 40% travel. Your role and responsibilities:
- Delivery Performance: Owns and is accountable to deliver KPIs in line with ABB expectations, including: Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Productivity. Responsible for continuing good operational momentum and accelerating backlog reduction and improving on-time delivery commitments.
- Safety & Sustainability: Responsible for supporting our employees in improving safety, and our customers in reducing their CO2 emissions, improving safety, complying with environmental regulations and improving circularity.
- Operational Rigor: Implement and enforce operational rigor across the factories, promoting standardized processes, best practices, and quality control measures. Continuously evaluate and refine operational workflows to maximize efficiency, minimize waste, and streamline production cycles.
- Sales Team and Factory Coordination: Build and maintain effective communication channels between the sales team and factories, fostering a strong collaborative environment. Act as a bridge, ensuring seamless information flow and alignment to meet customer demands and expectations.
- Customer Loyalty: Collaborate closely with the sales team to understand customer requirements and expectations. Leverage customer feedback and market insights to continuously enhance customer experience and satisfaction. Drive customer-centric initiatives to strengthen relationships and improve overall service levels.
- Leadership and Team Development: Lead and inspire a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation. Mentor and develop team members, empowering them to achieve their full potential and contribute to the company's strategic goals.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- 15+ years of experience required
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role, driving customer and process excellence within a manufacturing, commercial, P&L or industrial environment
- Strong understanding of sales and factory operations, with a track record of successfully connecting the two for improved delivery performance and customer satisfaction
- Demonstrated experience in implementing operational rigor, process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma), and performance management systems
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels and proven leadership capabilities, including team management, coaching, and talent development
