The opportunity
This role offers the exciting opportunity to build and lead the delivery of applied AI solutions for private equity clients and their portfolio companies, aligning AI investment with each client's value creation strategy to achieve measurable business outcomes. You will serve as a hands-on architect and trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, leading small, embedded teams of engineer-consultant practitioners who design, build, and operationalize production-grade AI agents — and who carry the process and organizational change around them. Specializing in agentic and generative AI delivery, you will coach others on relevant frameworks, tools, techniques, and enabling technologies, proposing solutions to technical constraints and anticipating bottlenecks across the full solution lifecycle.
Your key responsibilities
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the effective management and delivery of complex applied AI solutions — from opportunity identification through production deployment and adoption — maintaining focus on quality, risk management, and measurable value while navigating operational and organizational dynamics. This includes:
- Owning solution architecture and technical direction for AI deployments across multiple concurrent client environments.
- Exercising judgment in selecting models, frameworks, and evaluation criteria for obtaining reliable, compliant results.
- Developing solutions to complex problems spanning data, process, and organizational change.
- Recommending changes to client operating models and establishing delivery practices that affect immediate workstreams and possibly the broader business function.
You will also be expected to work embedded at client sites and travel regularly as required by external clients, managing client relationships with daily interactions.
Skills and attributes for success
To thrive in this role, you will need:
- Proven ability to lead end-to-end delivery of production AI solutions while managing program/project economics.
- Strong client relationship management skills, with the ability to identify sales and new opportunities from within the account.
- Experience building, coaching, and developing cross-functional engineering teams and developing resource plans and budgets for whole engagements.
To qualify for the role, you must have
- A Bachelor's degree (4-year degree), with a master's degree preferred.
- Typically, no less than 5 - 7 years of relevant experience.
- Agentic AI Solution Architecture
- Generative AI Application Development (RAG, multi-agent systems, orchestration frameworks such as LangChain/LangGraph)
- AI Platform Design & Operations (LLMOps / MLOps)
- Multi-Model & Multi-Cloud Architecture (Azure, AWS, GCP)
- Data Platform & Pipeline Engineering (Snowflake, Databricks, lakehouse patterns)
- AI Governance, Security & Responsible AI (including RBAC/ABAC authorization design)
- AI Use-Case Discovery & Value Qualification
- Business Case Development
- Process Re-engineering & Workflow Automation
- AI Operating Model / Organization Design
- Building and Managing Relationships
- Client Trust and Value
- Commercial Astuteness
- Communicating With Impact
- Complex Problem-Solving
- Critical Thinking
- Driving Outcomes
- Leading Teams
- Learning Agility
- Managing Change
- Negotiation and Influencing
Ideally, you’ll also have
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
- Experience in a consulting environment, with a focus on AI, data, or digital transformation.
- Experience serving private equity firms or their portfolio companies, or operating in comparably fast-paced, outcome-driven environments.
- Strong communication skills, capable of effectively articulating AI solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- A passion for staying at the frontier of AI — adopting the latest models, agents, and tools in your daily work.
What we look for
We are looking for individuals who demonstrate a blend of deep technical expertise and business acumen, with a proven track record of taking AI solutions from concept to production and measurable value. Top performers in this role are hands-on architects and trusted advisors, exhibit strong leadership skills, are adept problem-solvers, and possess the ability to navigate complex organizational dynamics effectively.
