Minimum 6 months Paraprofessional or Special Education experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make a real difference as a dedicated paraprofessional supporting elementary students for the 2026-2027 school year. Two full-time opportunities are available to provide one-on-one assistance, helping students flourish in a supportive educational setting just 30 minutes from Asheville.

Position 1 offers the chance to work exclusively with a student who requires help with mobility and personal care tasks, including diapering. Position 2 focuses on guiding a blind student throughout their school day, ensuring a safe and engaging learning environment.

Desired qualifications:

• Previous experience as a paraprofessional or educational aide, preferably in an elementary setting
• Compassion, patience, and strong communication skills
• Ability to assist with personal care needs where required
• Reliability and professionalism in supporting diverse student needs
• Adaptable and collaborative with classroom teachers and staff
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow school policies

Key responsibilities:

• Provide direct, individualized support to students as assigned
• Assist students in accessing curriculum and participating fully in classroom activities
• Help with personal care and daily living needs as necessary
• Foster a positive, inclusive environment
• Communicate student needs, progress, and concerns with teachers and support staff
• Ensure a safe setting for all students
