We are looking for a Controller to support a manufacturing organization in Concord, North Carolina with hands-on oversight of core accounting operations. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who can bring structure to day-to-day financial processes, strengthen reporting accuracy, and help ensure accounting activity is recorded correctly across the business. The role will focus on practical accounting execution, including journal entry review, reconciliations, month-end activities, and inventory-related controls, while working closely with on-site leadership and administrative staff.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily accounting activities to promote accurate financial records and consistent processing across key accounts.
• Review and manage journal entries to ensure transactions are posted correctly and aligned with established accounting practices.
• Lead month-end close tasks, including account analysis and reconciliation of balance sheet and income statement items.
• Prepare and review financial statements so leadership has reliable visibility into business performance.
• Evaluate inventory accounting and internal controls, identifying opportunities to improve accuracy in tracking and valuation.
• Maintain the chart of accounts and support proper account usage to improve reporting clarity and transaction coding.
• Partner with the office support team handling payables and receivables to ensure smooth coordination of accounting workflows.
• Provide accounting guidance and cross-functional support to help reinforce sound processes and day-to-day financial discipline.• 2–5 years of accounting or controllership-related experience in a manufacturing or product-based environment.
• Practical knowledge of journal entries, month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Experience working with inventory accounting and inventory control procedures.
• Strong understanding of general ledger activity and the mechanics of maintaining accurate accounting records.
• Ability to assess existing processes and bring structure to accounting operations in a hands-on setting.
• Proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheets, with the adaptability to learn industry-specific systems.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
