Search Solution Group is partnering with a leading organization in the industrial/machinery space to identify a Payroll Analyst to join their team. This role is a backfill for a long-tenured subject matter expert and offers the opportunity for meaningful knowledge transfer and long-term impact.

This is a highly visible role for someone who combines deep payroll expertise with strong systems knowledge , particularly within Workday .

Position Overview

The Payroll Analyst will serve as a key contributor to payroll operations, with a strong focus on accuracy, compliance, and system optimization. This individual will play a critical role in supporting and maintaining payroll processes, auditing payroll results, and acting as a resource for complex payroll and system-related issues.

This position requires someone who is detail-oriented, process-driven, and comfortable working in a high-volume, complex environment, including union-related payroll structures and multiple absence plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and audit payroll to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timeliness
• Analyze payroll data to identify discrepancies and resolve issues proactively
• Serve as a subject matter expert for payroll processes and system functionality
• Support and maintain payroll-related configurations within Workday
• Partner with HRIS and cross-functional teams on system updates and enhancements
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
• Manage and support complex payroll environments, including union rules and multiple pay structures
• Assist with administration and configuration of absence/time-off plans
• Document processes and support knowledge transfer from existing team members

Qualifications

• 10+ years of payroll experience, including end-to-end processing and auditing
• Hands-on experience with Workday payroll (configuration experience strongly preferred)
• Strong understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements
• Experience supporting high-volume payroll environments
• Exposure to union payrolls and complex pay rules is highly preferred
• Experience with absence/time-off modules or similar systems is a plus
• Highly analytical with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Advanced system proficiency and ability to troubleshoot issues independently

• Hybrid schedule (2 days onsite, 3 days remote; subject to change)
