IT Coordinator / Onboarding Specialist
Kforce has a client in Charlotte, NC that is seeking an IT Coordinator/Onboarding Specialist. Overview: Our Software Engineering organization is experiencing rapid growth, and we are seeking a highly organized, people-focused Onboarding & Talent Coordination Specialist. This role will serve as the first line of support for candidate screening, new-hire onboarding, and day-to-day administrative needs for the engineering leadership team. We're looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, technical environment and can confidently evaluate talent using a foundational understanding of software engineering concepts. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct first-round candidate screens for engineering roles, assessing alignment with technical and cultural expectations
- Coordinate and schedule interviews across multiple time zones and teams
- Partner closely with Engineering Managers, Technical Leads, and Recruiting to ensure a smooth hiring workflow
- Maintain candidate pipelines, track progress, and provide timely updates to leadership
- Act as the dedicated onboarding specialist for new hires
- Build and manage onboarding plans, ensuring new team members have access to tools, systems, permissions, documentation, and team resources
- Facilitate new-hire introductions, orientation sessions, and follow-up checkpoints during the first 90 days
- Continuously refine onboarding processes to improve speed, consistency, and new-hire experience
- Serve as the primary administrative support for the leadership team
- Assist with team communications, documentation, meeting coordination, shared calendars, and reporting
- Help maintain team resources, knowledge bases, and operational documentation
- Support engineering events, team meetings, offsites, and learning sessions
- 4+ years of experience in HR coordination, recruiting support, technical talent operations, or administrative roles supporting technical teams
- Foundational understanding of software engineering concepts (e.g., programming languages, development lifecycle, technical roles)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently with technical professionals
- Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, growing environment
- Proficient with collaboration tools such as Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, ATS systems, and scheduling tools
- Experience supporting Software Engineering, IT, or technical recruiting functions
- Exposure to applicant tracking systems (Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, etc.)
- Experience improving or building onboarding programs from the ground up
- A passion for process optimization and candidate experience
