Plant Controller

Banyan Search is assisting a Triad organization on their search for a Plant Controller to lead the financial operations of our client’s business, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and strategic insight that drive efficiency and growth. This role combines accounting expertise, operational leadership, and analytical insight to support informed decision-making across the plant.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all plant financial operations, including general and cost accounting, payables, and receivables, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Develop financial reports, forecasts, and statements that inform management of the plant’s performance and financial health.
• Partner with plant leadership to define budgets, benchmarks, and reporting standards that support operational and strategic goals.
• Guide cost management and inventory control, reviewing standard costs and variance analyses to optimize resources.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance productivity through financial insight and process improvements.
• Establish and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls that safeguard company assets and comply with regulations.
• Support internal and external audits with transparent documentation and analysis.
• Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Provide financial guidance to management to support both short- and long-term operational strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• 4+ years of accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to navigate complex scenarios with limited precedent.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply financial policies, procedures, and data in various formats.
• Proven leadership and team management experience, with the ability to build trust and drive results.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local accounting regulations and compliance requirements.
