Basic Job Functions: The role of Project Electrician primarily focuses on completing new construction projects & supporting projects mill wide. The role will consist of specifying & implementing electrical solutions in non-production areas. The successful candidate will use sound electrical principles & practices, project leadership, and utilize design software to interpret schematics safely & accurately. The successful candidate will be responsible for specifying, estimating, quoting & implementing new projects. The successful candidate must be willing to obtain and maintain necessary certifications as a part of this role. This position may require working nights and weekends depending on projects and the needs of the mill. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. *This job posting may close before July 5, 2026 if a set number of applicants have been reached* Minimum Qualifications:
- 2- years industrial electrical experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Understanding and applying the National Electrical Code
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel)
- Legally authorized to work in the Unites States without company sponsorship
- 4 or more years of industrial electrical experience
- 2- or 4-year engineering or technical degree
- Experience with leading a team
- Prior experience in the steel industry
- Prior experience in the electrical construction industry
- Understanding of copper & fiber optic network requirements
- Understanding of building codes
