Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab Holding position requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience, Epic proficiency, and cardiac telemetry background.

Details

• Work setting is a community hospital Cath Lab Holding unit
• Patient population includes those undergoing TEE/cardioversions, PCI, diagnostic heart catheterization, peripheral vascular percutaneous procedures, pacemaker placement, cardiac ablation, structural heart procedures, and loop recorder insertions
• Patient ratio is 1:4
• Epic EMR is required
• Schedule is day shift, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM (5x8s)
• No weekend or holiday requirements
• Travelers may be floated to any campus within the health system as needed

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Cardiac telemetry experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Current driver's license required
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include pre/post cardiac cath care, sheath removal, TR band management, pacemaker management (temporary and permanent), post-MI care, TAVR, and ventricular assist device (LVAD/RVAD) management
• Skills utilized include arterial line management, central and PICC line care, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, heparin protocols, and thrombolytic agent administration
• All RNs must pass a facility EKG exam (pass/fail) with two attempts allowed — candidates should prepare in advance as no study materials will be provided by the facility
• Orientation includes non-billable online modules averaging 2–4 hours, completed during orientation
• Third-party education verification is required; degrees from schools on the Florida Diploma Fraud Audit list will not be accepted
• RTO must be disclosed at the time of application; no post-submission RTO will be accepted
• Zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
