• Location: Greenville, NC 27834 (North Carolina healthcare jobs)
• Facility Setting: Hospital – Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens (Travel Surgical Technologist Contract)
• Start Date: August 25, 2025
• End Date: November 25, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 8 or 10-hour day shifts, Monday–Friday
• On-Call: Minimum 1 on-call shift per week and 1 on-call weekend per 6-week schedule
• Hours per Week: 40
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1870 - $1920

Surgical Technologist Qualifications

• At least 1 year of recent experience as a Surgical Technologist in a CVOR or operating room setting
• Current Surgical Technician certification (Certified Surgical Technologist)
• Proven experience assisting with cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgical procedures
• Strong sterile technique and surgical instrumentation knowledge
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented healthcare environment
• BLS certification preferred

CVOR Surgical Technologist Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room, including sterile field, surgical equipment, and supplies
• Assist surgeons during cardiac, vascular, and thoracic procedures (CABG, valve repair/replacement, TAVR, LVAD placement, endovascular repairs, thoracotomies)
• Pass instruments, fluids, and supplies to the surgical team
• Maintain the sterile field and handle surgical specimens appropriately
• Collaborate with Circulating Nurse for sponge and supply counts to ensure patient safety
• Support infection control protocols and patient safety throughout procedures
