Experienced Full-Charge Bookkeeper

Responsibilities:

• Obtain primary data for accounting records.

• Compute and record financial data.

• Verify the accuracy of business transactions.

• Manage data entry tasks.

• Process payroll for approximately 5 employees (familiarity with Sage accounting program is helpful).

• Maintain good working knowledge of Excel, including generating Excel reports and tracking vacation hours.

• Handle payroll taxes, sales taxes, and federal and state taxes, ensuring compliance with semi-weekly reporting requirements.

• Generate sales reports for North Carolina and South Carolina.

• Prioritize and multitask, demonstrating strong organizational skills.

• Focus on meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy through attention to detail.

• Run end-of-month reports and change monthly periods in the Sage accounting program.

• Manage purchasing materials and inventory history.

• Utilize Microsoft Word and Outlook for daily tasks.

• Process online payments to vendors and handle accounts receivable.

• Enter and balance checking account transactions.

• Process sales orders received from customers.

• Invoice customers, primarily through email.

• Manage bill of materials and website updates, as needed.

Work Schedule and Benefits:

• Hours: Monday - Thursday, 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM; Friday, 7:30 AM - 12:00 PM.

• Major holidays off, including Friday and Monday for most holidays, Thanksgiving (Thursday and Friday), and a one-week holiday for July 4th week and Christmas week.

• Holiday pay is based on accrued vacation time as tracked in an Excel sheet.

Requirements:

• Strong bookkeeping experience.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

• Knowledge of Sage accounting software is a plus.

• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.

• Detail-oriented and deadline-focused.

• Good communication skills.

• References from prior employment.
