AlphaTech, Inc. is hiring a Quality Inspector for our precision manufacturing operation in Fletcher, NC. This role is responsible for first article, in-process, final, and receiving inspection; inspection documentation; support of gage and calibration records; and reinforcement of our quality standards throughout production.

Responsibilities include: performing inspections, reading blueprints and specifications, using precision measuring tools, documenting results, identifying nonconformances, and working closely with machinists and operators to support quality and continuous improvement.

Qualified candidates should have: manufacturing inspection experience, strong attention to detail, the ability to read engineering drawings, proficiency with standard inspection tools, and a cooperative, self-motivated approach. Experience in a CNC machine shop, ISO 9001 environment, or CMM inspection is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform First Article Inspections (FAIs) to verify initial parts meet drawing, specification, and quality requirements
• Conduct in-process inspections to confirm dimensional accuracy and process consistency during production
• Perform final inspections to verify completed parts meet all requirements before release
• Inspect incoming outsourced and vendor-supplied products to verify conformity to AlphaTech requirements
• Use precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gages, height gages, and CMMs , as applicable
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and inspection requirements
• Document inspection results accurately in accordance with AlphaTech’s Quality Management System
• Help maintain master gage and calibration records
• Communicate nonconformances, discrepancies, and quality concerns clearly and professionally
• Work closely with machinists, operators, and leadership to support problem-solving and process improvement
• Support a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and product accuracy

Required Qualifications

• Experience in quality inspection in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to use standard precision measuring tools accurately and confidently
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation
• Good communication skills and ability to work cooperatively with production personnel
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work with limited supervision
• Willingness to learn AlphaTech’s systems, standards, and processes
• Desire to grow professionally in a long-term role

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a machine shop, CNC machining, or precision manufacturing environment
• Experience with First Article Inspection documentation
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 or a formal Quality Management System
• Experience with CMM inspection
• Familiarity with calibration tracking, gage control, or inspection records
• Exposure to tight-tolerance or production machining environments
