Responsibilities:The hotel controller oversees the financial operations of a hotel, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial planning. This role involves managing income, expenses, and assets, preparing financial statements, and developing budgets. The controller also analyzes financial performance, identifies areas for improvement, and provides financial guidance to management.
- Overseeing daily financial operations, including revenue tracking, expense management, and cash flow management.
- Preparing and analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Developing and managing hotel budgets, forecasting future financial performance, and analyzing variances.
- Establishing and maintaining internal control procedures to safeguard assets and ensure financial accuracy.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Providing financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making and business growth.
- Managing and mentoring accounting staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to deadlines.
- Coordinating with external auditors and ensuring smooth audit processes.
Specific tasks may include:
- Overseeing the preparation of daily sales journals, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Managing accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.
- Monitoring inventory and cost control processes.
- Analyzing financial data and preparing reports on key performance indicators.
- Working with other departments to implement financial strategies and improve profitability.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related experienced.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
- Experience in the hospitality industry.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
