About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Vice President of Human Resources (VP of HR) to provide executive-level leadership and guidance for our HR operations. This senior leader will set the vision for HR strategy, enforce and evaluate policies, and align talent management initiatives with long-term organizational goals. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in HR strategy, compliance, and technology, along with the ability to inspire, lead, and develop a high-performing HR team.

 

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Supervision

  • Lead, mentor, and develop HR staff at all levels, fostering a culture of growth and accountability.
  • Oversee departmental workflow, performance reviews, and employee development.
  • Manage employee relations, including disciplinary actions and terminations, in alignment with company policy.

Strategic HR & Talent Management

  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align HR strategy with organizational mission and long-term goals.
  • Define and track key performance indicators to measure HR effectiveness and market competitiveness.
  • Research and implement competitive compensation, benefits, and incentive programs.
  • Benchmark against industry best practices to drive continuous improvement.

HR Technology & Analytics

  • Oversee the HRIS department and vendor partnerships.
  • Lead HRIS system updates, upgrades, and implementations to improve efficiency and employee experience.
  • Utilize workforce analytics to inform talent strategies, recruitment, and retention.
  • Ensure payroll and HR systems support data-driven decision-making.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with all employment laws and regulations, including FLSA, EEO, Title VII, FMLA, ADA, and VEVRA.
  • Provide support for employee relations cases, grievances, and litigation in partnership with legal counsel.
  • Lead compliance initiatives such as the Nuclear ECP program.

Budgeting & Development

  • Draft and manage the HR department budget.
  • Represent the organization at professional development and networking events.

 

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 15 years of progressive HR leadership, including strategic talent management; executive-level experience strongly preferred.
  • Education/Certification: SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP strongly preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Exceptional communication, leadership, and conflict-resolution abilities.
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • In-depth knowledge of HR laws, compliance, and best practices.
    • Proficiency with HRIS platforms, workforce analytics, and Microsoft Office Suite.
