Essential Job Duties The Onboarding Center Consultant primarily facilitates individualized onboarding sessions and coordinates new employee orientation programs to ensure a welcoming and efficient start for employees. The role also provides limited support for offboarding processes to ensure smooth transitions for employees separating from the University.
Key responsibilities include:
Conduct individualized onboarding and offboarding sessions to complete critical employment tasks and provide tailored guidance
- Serve as a subject matter expert on onboarding/offboarding processes, including payroll, FLSA, benefits, I-9, identity management, IT access, transportation, and international employment considerations Generate and analyze daily reports to determine personalized onboarding content and monitor trends related to hires and separations Troubleshoot HR system functionality across platforms such as HR Job Data, payroll processing, background check systems, and identity management tools; recommend process improvements as needed Coordinate, develop, and deliver New Employee Orientation and Benefits Orientation (in-person and virtual) Develop and facilitate employee engagement initiatives, including campus tours and institutional programming that foster connection to the University’s mission and culture
- Respond to employee and departmental inquiries via phone, email, and in person with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment

Qualifications Minimum Experience/Education Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Three or more years of human resources experience in a university setting
- Experience with PeopleSoft or similar HR Information Systems
- Knowledge of human resources policies, employment processes, and compliance requirements
- Experience planning and facilitating group presentations or orientation sessions
- Experience analyzing HR data or working with integrated HR systems
