Position Summary
Under the supervision of the School Impact Manager, the L.E.A.P. Program Coordinator supports the logistics and implementation of the Blumenthal L.E.A.P. program including: managing related daily program operations, materials and supplies, generating necessary classroom curriculum, substitute teaching and supporting all education department efforts as a collaborative team member. L.E.A.P. is an in-school residency program that serves local Title I schools.
The L.E.A.P. Program Coordinator is a part-time, contract position and is not eligible for benefits. It requires onsite work at the program’s schools served twice weekly four hours per day. Therefore, candidates must have weekday, daytime availability. The estimated scope of work is 10 hours per week for 25 weeks (September to March following the CMS calendar). The pay rate is $25/hr. Hours will be submitted monthly to be paid out the first week of the following month.
Duties & Responsibilities
Program Coordination and Management
- Teach within the Blumenthal L.E.A.P. program as needed.
- Oversee curriculum development, implementation, assessment, and refinement.
- Coordinate program training and scheduling.
- Manage materials and supplies, collaborating with School Impact Manager to coordinate purchasing and distribution.
- Develop and maintain program documentation including student pre- and post-program assessment, students writing files and artwork, and curriculum files.
- Maintain relationships and communication serving as liaison for participating schools, teaching artists and BA Education Team.
- Manage the creation of the final product, a book featuring the work of the participating students.
- In collaboration with the School Impact Manager, coordinate the culminating event “LEAP Day” which takes place at Knight Theater.
- Lead program analysis providing constructive and proactive feedback for program adjustments and improvements.
- Substitute teach scheduled classes when necessary.
Documentation
- Collaborate with department to ensure documents and webpages are up to date and accurate.
- Collect and maintain program documentation including surveys, feedback, participation statistics, quality photos and videos as well as communicating information to marketing and development.
- Ensure accurate and detailed tracking and documentation including providing necessary information for development reports.
Contract and Financial Responsibilities
- Assist School Impact Manager in maintaining designated program budgets.
- Ensure contracts with staff are fully executed.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in arts management, theater education, or related field supplemented by three or more years of program management; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Teaching experience in Title I schools preferred but not required.
- Proven track record of teaming with staff, volunteers, school contacts, and a diverse group of stakeholders.
- Reliable transportation that allows for transporting supplies to and from Blumenthal offices and partner schools.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze problems, develop and implement creative solutions.
- Advanced computer abilities.
- Ability to plan and manage multiple tasks.
- Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, flexibility, judgment, discretion, and decision-making.
- Must have access to reliable transportation.
