Physical Therapist Job Details

• Position: Locum Tenens Physical Therapist (Travel Assignment)
• Healthcare Setting: Inpatient Rehabilitation
• Location: Mount Airy, NC 27030 (North Carolina physical therapy jobs)
• Assignment Duration: 14 weeks (Start: 9/29/2025 – End: 1/5/2026)
• Shift: 5x8-Hour Days (07:00 – 15:00)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Weekend Rotation: Required
• Orientation: 16 hours
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2250 - $2310
• Potential for Temp-to-Perm Physical Therapist Role

Physical Therapist Qualifications

• Active Physical Therapist license in North Carolina or eligibility/documentation in progress
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Minimum 1 year of experience in acute rehab or inpatient physical therapy
• Experience with Meditech charting system preferred
• Wound care and skilled nursing experience preferred
• Ability to work weekends and holidays as scheduled
• First-time travel Physical Therapists and local candidates encouraged to apply

Physical Therapist Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality physical therapy services to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in an inpatient rehabilitation setting
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to maximize patient recovery and functional independence
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and nursing staff
• Document patient progress and outcomes using Meditech electronic health records
• Educate patients and families on rehabilitation goals, home exercise programs, and discharge planning
• Float within the hospital as needed to support comprehensive patient care
• Participate in weekend and holiday coverage as assigned by the Rehab Coordinator
