Job Title: Torch Operator

Location: Monroe, NC

Pay: $18.00 – $19.00/hour

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Torch Operator to join a growing operation supporting the recycling of high-grade metals used in the aerospace industry. In this role, you will be responsible for cutting specialized alloys into precise, manageable sizes for downstream processing.

This is a hands-on, team-oriented position that requires attention to detail, a strong safety mindset, and the ability to work efficiently in an industrial environment. The ideal candidate takes pride in producing quality work and contributing to a process that supports sustainability and advanced manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate an acetylene torch to cut metals such as nickel, cobalt, titanium, and other high-performance alloys into designated sizes

• Ensure materials are cut accurately and meet required specifications for processing and recycling

• Identify and properly sort different metal types to avoid contamination and maintain material value

• Work closely with a team member to collect, stage, and place cut materials into appropriate containers

• Assist as a helper when needed by handling, organizing, and preparing materials for cutting

• Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safety and efficiency

• Follow all company safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times

• Support general material handling and production needs as assigned

Equipment Used

• Acetylene torch (fueled by acetylene gas cylinders)

• Overhead crane for lifting and positioning materials

Qualifications

• Prior experience operating torch cutting equipment preferred (oxy-acetylene or similar)

• Experience in metal recycling, fabrication, or industrial environments is a plus

• Ability to recognize and differentiate between various metal types is highly desirable

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and specifications

• Commitment to workplace safety and proper equipment handling

• Team player with a strong work ethic and reliability
