Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Multicraft Service Technician with a strong electrical foundation and mechanical aptitude to service, troubleshoot, and repair steel plate cutting machines and other manufacturing equipment across a 500-mile territory. You will be the on-site expert, delivering diagnostics, repairs, preventative maintenance, and customer support to ensure production runs safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain steel plate cutting machines with a focus on electrical (70%) and mechanical (30%) aspects.
• Perform preventative maintenance and system calibrations for optimal performance.
• Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings for troubleshooting and repairs.
• Install upgrades and components, verifying system functionality and safety compliance.
• Document service activities, parts usage, and provide recommendations for future maintenance.
• Communicate clearly with customers and internal teams, providing post-service follow-up.
• Travel regularly within a 500-mile radius using a company-provided vehicle for installations, maintenance, and repairs.
• Work with CNC-controlled machines and Fanuc industrial robots.
• Perform electrical troubleshooting at an industrial level (familiarity with 480v and 3-phase motors).
• Conduct mechanical repairs as needed.

Essential Skills

• 3+ years of experience as a field service technician or industrial maintenance technician.
• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems (AC/DC, drives, motors, PLC basics, sensors).
• Mechanical proficiency including gearboxes, pneumatics/hydraulics basics, alignment, and rigging safety.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and schematics.
• Familiarity with manufacturing environments and safety standards (LOTO, PPE, OSHA).
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the territory.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in industrial environments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Strong electrical knowledge at an industrial level.
• Mechanical aptitude with a preference for electrical skills.
• Familiarity with CNC machines and Fanuc processes.
• Ability to troubleshoot control systems.
• Backgrounds in industrial maintenance or HVAC service are considered a good fit.

Work Environment

Work takes place in dirty/industrial settings across a 500-mile radius, including NC, SC, VA, East TN, GA, Northern FL, and occasionally KY, WV, PA. Expect day trips with periodic overnights as needed, and no weekend work except rare exceptions. Our team values flexibility for family matters and doctor appointments.

This is a Permanent position based out of Concord, NC.

The pay range for this position is $54080.00 - $62400.00/yr.

This is a fully onsite position in Concord,NC.
