MICU RN Job Details

• Assignment Type: Locum tenens (travel nursing contract)
• Location: Greenville, NC (27834) – North Carolina healthcare jobs
• Unit: Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU)
• Start Date: Any Monday beginning September 22, 2025
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts
• Hours per Week: 36
• Bed Count: 24-bed MICU
• Staffing Ratios: 1:2 or 1:1 RN-to-patient
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,910 - $1,960 per week

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Compact license accepted
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience
• BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications required
• Proficient in reading cardiac strips
• Willingness to travel within an 80-mile radius for healthcare assignments

MICU RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill medical and pulmonary patients, including those with acute respiratory failure, septic shock, ARDS, renal failure, and multisystem organ failure
• Manage advanced airway interventions, intubations, and post-cardiac arrest care
• Perform emergency event management and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Monitor and manage arterial and central venous lines
• Administer and titrate multiple continuous intravenous drips (vasopressors, sedatives, paralytics)
• Utilize invasive and non-invasive hemodynamic monitoring
• Provide care for patients requiring continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT)
• Implement targeted temperature management and pronation therapy
• Care for organ donor patients, including brain death and donation after cardiac death
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including charge nurses, float nurses, and bedside nurses
