Plumber Foreman
This role leads commercial plumbing projects in the field, overseeing crews and ensuring high-quality installation of press copper, PVC, and cast iron piping systems. The Plumber Foreman works hands-on with tools and materials, reads and interprets blueprints, coordinates helpers and mechanics, and ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, and to specification.
Responsibilities- Install, run, and press copper, PVC, and cast iron pipe for commercial plumbing systems.
- Lead and manage a crew, including assigning tasks, overseeing workflow, and ensuring productivity.
- Read and interpret blueprint drawings to plan and execute accurate installations.
- Work directly with helpers, providing direction, training, and support to develop their skills.
- As a lead mechanic, oversee multiple crews consisting of mechanics and helpers to complete projects on schedule.
- Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide variety of plumbing systems and related equipment.
- Use hand tools and mechanical tools safely and effectively for plumbing installation and repair.
- Transport tools, materials, equipment, and supplies to and from the work site by hand, truck, or motorized vehicle.
- Maintain clean and orderly work areas, ensuring debris is removed and tools are stored properly.
- Perform laboring duties such as lifting, carrying, and positioning heavy materials and equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Climb, reach above shoulder height, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl frequently to access work areas and complete tasks.
- Follow safety practices at all times and wear required personal protective equipment on site.
- Demonstrate punctuality and reliability by arriving on time and ready to work each day.
- Collaborate effectively with other team members and trades to support a positive and efficient job site.
- Communicate clearly with coworkers and supervisors, using strong people skills to resolve issues and coordinate work.
- Maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor while working in a variety of job site conditions.
- At least 5+ years of experience as a commercial plumber.
- Proficiency in installing, running, and pressing copper, PVC, and cast iron pipe.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprint drawings for plumbing installations.
- Experience leading and running a crew in a commercial construction environment.
- Capability to oversee multiple crews consisting of mechanics and helpers as a lead mechanic.
- Strong skills working with cast iron and copper piping, including soldering.
- Ability to perform installation, maintenance, and repair on a wide variety of plumbing systems and equipment.
- Proficiency using hand tools and mechanical tools required for plumbing work.
- Physical ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs and perform frequent climbing, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
- Reliable transportation to travel to and from job sites.
- Strong people skills and the ability to work well with others on a team.
- Consistent punctuality and reliability, including being on time for all shifts.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic in a field construction environment.
- Journeyman or Master Plumber’s License preferred.
- Experience working in commercial construction environments such as plumbing and HVAC installations.
- Ability to transport tools, materials, equipment, and supplies to work sites by hand, truck, or motorized truck.
- Comfort working with mechanical systems related to plumbing and HVAC.
- Willingness to participate in additional training and career development programs.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with supervisors, mechanics, and helpers.

Work EnvironmentThis role is field-based in commercial construction settings and requires working in varying temperatures and all weather conditions. The position involves regular physical activity, including lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling to access work areas. The workday emphasizes punctuality, teamwork, and strong people skills, with an expectation to work well with others and maintain a positive attitude. Reliable transportation is necessary to travel to different job sites. Personal protective equipment such as a hard hat, steel-toe boots, safety glasses, and a high-visibility vest is required on site to ensure safety.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
