Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Full-Time in Raleigh, NC , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will conduct routine patrols and stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will monitor assigned areas, control access as needed, respond to alarms and calls for service, and document observations clearly. You will represent our agile, reliable, and innovative team with a caring, people-first approach, strong communication, and integrity on every shift.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to on-site personnel and visitors by following post orders, security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned areas, including buildings, grounds, and perimeter points, while remaining alert for unauthorized activity and conditions that may require attention.
  • Control access by verifying identification and/or authorization, monitoring entry and exit points, and directing visitors and deliveries in accordance with site requirements.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with on-site staff and local responders as directed and within scope of assignment.
  • Complete timely documentation such as patrol logs, incident reports, and shift activity reports, and communicate significant observations to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • An Armed Guard Card/License is preferred.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
