Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Role Purpose

Managing and optimizing the forecasting processes within the PCS business to deliver accurate, data-driven predictions that enable effective decision-making, strategic planning, and operational excellence. This role plays a critical part in aligning near-term and long-term demand projections with organizational objectives, ensuring the business remains competitive and agile in a dynamic market environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement forecasting models to predict demand in the near-term (6 months) and long-term (>2 years) for PCS product lines
  • Use market trends, analyst reports, and customer insights to improve forecast accuracy.
  • Collaborate with teams (Market Intelligence, Product Managers, customer service, Finance, etc.) to gather data and align forecasts with business goals.
  • Ensure forecasts reflect real-time market conditions through regular communication across departments.
  • Analyze industry trends and competition to guide forecasting decisions.
  • Use data sources and predictive analytics to anticipate demand changes and opportunities.
  • Lead regular demand review meetings and present forecasts during Sales & Operational Plan (S&OP) discussions.
  • Work with stakeholders to address demand gaps and refine projections.
  • Continuously improve forecasting tools, processes and deploying new systems
  • Apply best practices in demand planning using technology and data analytics.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and competitor actions to enhance forecasting methods.
  • Identify risks and opportunities in demand projections and suggest solutions.
  • Adjust forecasts based on market changes to maintain business agility

Experiences/Education - Required

  • We require a minimum of a BA/BS degree in business, data analytics, finance, supply chain, or related fields
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in demand forecasting, finance, market intelligence or business planning function; ideally in a position requiring data analysis
  • Advanced excel experience to support data analysis and sales forecast management

Experiences/Education - Desired

  • MBA or Master's Degree in related field is preferred.
  • Proficiency in demand planning and forecasting tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle or similar)
  • Capable of understanding data from business insights
  • PowerBi, Salesforce experience
  • Work independently and respond quickly to requests.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate, influence and align cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks in fast-paced environment.

The range for this position is $97,314.00 - $133,808.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
