Senior Structural Engineer

Accentuate Staffing is partnering with an award-winning Design and Engineering Services company who is hiring for a Senior Structural Engineer to join their team. Responsibilities:

1. Lead structural engineering projects from concept to completion, including full design of systems using steel, concrete, masonry, and timber.
2. Prepare and oversee calculations, models, specifications, and construction documents throughout all phases of design and construction.
3. Conduct field visits and site inspections to monitor construction progress and ensure design integrity, code compliance, and safety standards.
4. Collaborate with internal disciplines-including architectural and civil, to develop coordinated, buildable solutions.
5. Participate in business development efforts, including proposal writing, fee estimates, and client presentations.
6. Serve as the main point of contact for structural clients, cultivating long-term relationships and repeat business.
7. Recruit, mentor, and develop structural engineering staff to support firm growth and uphold design excellence.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
2. 15+ years of Structural Engineering experience with a focus on building projects and proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., RISA3D, RAM, SAP2000, ETABS).
3. PE Licensure in NC OR the ability to obtain via reciprocity.
4. Demonstrated experience in BIM and drafting tools such as; AutoCAD and Revit, must be able to lead and review drawing production.
5. Strong knowledge of building codes and structural systems, including design for all major load types and conditions.
6. Knowledge or exposure to close coordination with Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing engineers for building systems.
7. Demonstrated experience with permitting and coordination with local jurisdictions.
