Pickleball Instructor
The Town of Clayton is seeking applicants for a Pickleball Instructor for the Parks & Recreation Department. Duties & Responsibilities
We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Pickleball Instructor to join our team! As an instructor, you will introduce beginners to the game of pickleball, teach basic skills, and foster a fun, inclusive, and supportive environment. You will be responsible for planning and leading instructional sessions, ensuring a positive experience for all participants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead introductory pickleball classes for beginners.
- Teach the fundamental rules, techniques, and strategies of pickleball.
- Create a welcoming and encouraging environment for all skill levels.
- Demonstrate proper form, safety protocols, and sportsmanship.
- Provide feedback and individualized coaching to help players improve.
- Monitor participants' progress and adapt instruction to meet their needs.
- Ensure the safety and proper use of equipment and facilities.
Special Requirements, Education & Experience
Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of pickleball rules and techniques (formal training is not required).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to engage and motivate participants of all ages and backgrounds.
- Passion for sports and a desire to share that passion with others.
- Previous experience in coaching, teaching, or leading recreational activities is a plus but not required.

- Availability for weekday and weekend classes as needed.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to providing an excellent participant experience.
- Willingness to learn and grow as an instructor, with support and training provided.

When a salary range is posted, the actual salary will be based on relevant competencies, knowledge, skills & abilities, internal equity and budgetary considerations pertinent to the advertised position.
