At Siemens Mobility’s Rolling Stock Division in Lexington, NC—the North American leader in passenger rail manufacturing—you’ll help bring advanced rail vehicles to life as part of a high-energy production team.

Your mission

In this role, you are the link between engineering plans and real-world execution. You’ll translate drawings into action, rig and secure rolling stock, and ensure each move is safe, efficient, and quality-checked.

How you’ll contribute

• Guide and execute rail vehicle movements throughout the facility to support production flow.
• Prepare flatcars and coordinate tractor-trailer loading using established procedures.
• Apply specialized rigging and tie-down methods to secure rail vehicles.
• Inspect equipment and rigging; implement quality control checks before, during, and after moves.
• Read and interpret blueprints; use shop hand and power tools confidently and safely.
• Assist with special tasks and cross-functional activities assigned by the lead technician.
• Perform maintenance work using blueprints, parts lists, sketches, and verbal instructions on production, transport, and facility equipment.
• Follow instructions precisely and communicate clearly with teammates.

What sets you up for success

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
• 1+ year operating equipment in a shop, yard, or industrial setting.
• Hands-on experience with rigging and load securement.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Forklift license/certification (or ability to obtain promptly).

Physical essentials

• Ability to work at times in non-climate-controlled environments.
• Comfort with standing, walking, sitting, stair climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and frequent hand use for tools and materials.
• Frequent verbal communication; occasional tasks require odor detection.
• Lift and move up to 40 pounds.
• Vision requirements include near and distance acuity, color recognition, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Pay transparency

For Lexington, NC, base pay starts at $19/hour. Final pay may be higher or lower based on budget and on your experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
