Diet Office Clerk
:
Job Summary: Utilizing department software, the Diet Office Clerk transcribes patient diet orders in a manner that facilitates accurate delivery of nutrition from kitchen to patient. Works in tandem with clinical nutrition staff to ensure that patients' specialized nutritional needs are met.
Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required. ServSafe Certification required or must obtain within 30 days of hire. Health care experience involving food services or 2 years of experience in service industry preferred. Good communication skills, ability to follow written and verbal instructions and complete simple computational skills. Basic knowledge of therapeutic diets preferred with the ability to train new hires. Excellent customer service skills are a must. Some bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling required. Ability to work in a team environment. Possesses necessary skills to effectively operate hospital's admission, discharge, and transfer (ADT) system and other computer-based systems, which manage patient-care records. Must possess the ability to lead by example.
