Financial Administrator - UNC Pembroke

Job Description

The Financial Adminatrator should be a highly skilled and diligent accounting coordinator who excels at multi-tasking. This individual will act as a point of contact between different parts of the accounting department as well as external parties.

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for performing administrative functions including distributing mail, ordering, and stocking supplies, answering phones, and greeting visitors
• Assists unit management with clerical tasks in relation to accounting, payroll, receiving, and/or human resources including filing, data entry, record review and maintenance, etc.
• Greets customers, clients, and employees; answers inquiries or directs calls where necessary
• Maintain office memos and informative postings
• Operate technology, systems, and software such as voicemail systems, copy/scanners, personal computers, and MS Office

• Works with other members of the accounting department to compile, analyze and report financial data.
• File and manage the electronic portfolio of accounts.
• Enter information into company databases to ensure all financial records are complete and accurate.
• Communicate with internal and external clients to supply or obtain information.
• Participate in the process improvements as related to the processing of accounting documents.
• Assist in special projects and year end projects as requested.

Qualifications

• 2-4 Years Previous Experience Required
• Become an ingrained part of the management teams you support.
• Virtually attend weekly manager meetings at each campus
• Set up weekly calls with key managers to collaborate on financial variances and system tie outs (example: chefs and EBT or catering manager and Catertrax)
• Enter revenue data for the schools you support. Make sure any material register variances are investigated.
• Bank cash and credit card deposits. Investigate any material variances.
• Reconcile deferred income monthly.
• Become proficient with Excel. Work with Controller to learn functions, tools, and workbook building that support the needs of our teams.
• Become proficient with PFS and Smartview.
• In depth understanding of different meal plan types and what the impact of those are on financials.
• Become proficient on how to build a financial plan for both internal and external purposes.
• Become proficient on whole business outlook not only focusing on financial performance.
