Job Description:

L3Harris Technologies is looking for a Field Technician for the Companys Field Services organization supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This role will be responsible for support mainly in Northern Illinois Southern Wisconsin Northern Indiana Southern Michigan

Essential Functions:

• This is a support level position requiring a thorough knowledge of theinstallation maintenance and repair of telecommunications related systems and/or equipment gained through formal education or fromconsiderable and varied experience in working with the installationservice activation maintenance and repair of telecommunication systemsand devices.
• Responsiblefor the installation repair configuration test and preventativemaintenance of network equipment telecommunications equipment and/or computers.
• Proficientin Microsoft or UNIX operating systems and the components of the MSOffice Suite. Maintains records on repairs down time changes andupdates.

Network Knowledge / Skills:

• Good working knowledge of cable connectors and replacement such as RJ-11 RJ-45 DB-25 V.35 RS-449
• Excellent working knowledge of fiber working knowledge of Multiplexes Network topology Frame Relay Fractional T-1 SONET Network Technology ATM Private Line Voice and Data applications
• Goodworking knowledge of power testing AD and DC including 3 Phase AC. Familiar with configuration and operation of the 24VDC & 48 VDC powersupplies.
• Experience with network and circuit testing with T1 Testing Specifications DS3Testing Digital Testing (BERT) and Analog VG Testing within Bell CoreStandards.
• Working knowledge and usage of various network test equipment: JDSU HST Ameritech AM5XT Sage 935 Digital Oscilloscope Halcyon 704A Para-scope or other T1/DS3 Test sets.

Computer Knowledge / Skills:

• Performbasic software troubleshooting and diagnostics
• Serveas the point of contact for unresolved problems from the Help Desk or NOC.
• Installhardware and software including operating system and office applications
• Responsiblefor providing computer hardware software and network technical support to end-users
• Assists with setup and configuration of system hardware and software.
• MicrosoftOffice suite.

Qualifications:

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
• Possessand maintain a valid Drivers License and a satisfactory driving recordas conditions of initial (and continued) employment.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Network CCNA CCNP CCNA Wireless A
• Abilityto work from home in an on-call status.
• Capableof lifting 70 pounds
• Willing to travel (up to 100% of the time) to remote sites within a 4-hour drive circle of base location. Technicians may be asked to travel outside of their assigned region as needed.
• Capable of utilizing ladders and stepstools to reach heights of approx. 10 feet
• Willingnessand/or ability to work outside regularly scheduled hours to meetoperational needs and to respond to after-hours emergency calls as required.
• Excellentcustomer service skills.
• Ability to work in high stress and visibility environment.
• Professional appearance

In compliance with pay transparency requirements the salary range for this role is $63500 - $117500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
