Job Summary:
The Part-Time Convenience Store Cashier is responsible for providing excellent customer service, handling sales transactions accurately, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the store. This role requires attention to detail, effective communication skills, and a friendly, positive attitude to create a welcoming environment for customers.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Customer Service

   • Greet and assist customers in a friendly manner.
   • Answer questions and provide information on products, services, and store policies.
   • Address customer inquiries and resolve issues or escalate as needed.

2. Cash Handling and Transactions

   • Operate cash register and process transactions accurately.
   • Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments, providing correct change and receipts.
   • Ensure proper cash drawer handling and follow procedures for balancing at shift end.

3. Inventory and Stocking

   • Restock shelves, displays, and coolers with merchandise as needed.
   • Check for expired or damaged items and remove them from the shelves.
   • Assist with receiving, counting, and organizing new shipments.

4. Store Maintenance

   • Keep the store clean, organized, and safe for customers and staff.
   • Perform light cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, and trash removal.
   • Maintain stock in key areas like the checkout counter, coffee station, and snack aisles.

5. Promotions and Upselling

   • Inform customers about promotions, loyalty programs, or special deals.
   • Suggest additional products or services based on customer needs.

Requirements:

• Education : High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience : Previous cashier or retail experience preferred, but not required.
• Skills : Basic math skills, strong communication abilities, and excellent customer service skills.
• Physical Requirements : Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and perform cleaning tasks.

Work Environment:
This role typically involves working shifts, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Cashiers work indoors in a fast-paced environment and may occasionally assist with tasks outside the building.
