Assistant Scientist – QC Micro
Location: Zebulon, NC
Shift: First Shift (Monday–Friday)
Pay Rate: $25.50/hour (W2)
Employment Type: Contract – Must work on Alphanumeric W2 (No C2C or third-party candidates).

Alphanumeric is hiring an Assistant Scientist – QC Micro to support a Quality Control laboratory in a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical environment. This role is responsible for performing analytical and microbiological testing to ensure products meet company and regulatory standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for a science graduate looking to build hands-on QC laboratory experience within the pharmaceutical industry.

Position Summary:
The Assistant Scientist ensures QC testing of raw materials, packaging materials, finished products, and environmental samples is performed in accordance with cGMP and company standards. The role involves analytical and microbiological testing, data evaluation, documentation, and reporting using approved procedures with limited supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine analytical and microbiological testing of:
  • Raw materials.
  • Packaging materials.
  • Finished products.
  • Environmental samples
• Operate laboratory instrumentation including:
  • HPLC
  • Vitek
  • GC
  • UV
  • Microscope
  • Gram Stainer
  • Robotics systems
• Generate valid and accurate data while meeting productivity expectations.
• Interpret and verify validity of test results.
• Communicate deviations or unexpected results to supervisor.
• Review and evaluate analytical data generated by other team members.
• Accurately document laboratory results in compliance with cGMP.
• Review laboratory documentation including SOPs, methods, specifications, and technical reports.
• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
• Assist in training laboratory personnel on methods, instrumentation, and systems.
• Participate in interdepartmental projects and quality initiatives.
• Perform data integration and calculations as required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, or related scientific discipline.
• Prior pharmaceutical or GMP laboratory experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of cGMP documentation standards.
• Experience with analytical instrumentation strongly preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and data integrity.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Employment Details:

• $25.50 per hour.
• Must be able to work directly on Alphanumeric W2.
• No C2C, 1099, or third-party candidates will be accepted.
