CAD/CAM Designer – Fixed Restorations (3Shape)

Location: Charlotte, NC (On-site)

Employment Type: Full-Time (40 hours/week)

About the Role:

A well-established full-service dental laboratory in Charlotte, NC is seeking an experienced CAD/CAM Designer – Fixed Technician with strong expertise in 3Shape to support high-quality fixed restorative workflows. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled digital technician who enjoys hands-on involvement, teamwork, and working in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design crowns and custom abutments using 3Shape , including split-file workflows.
• Perform Encode decoding and work confidently with scan bodies.
• Support implant restorative cases from design through production readiness.
• Pre-finish and work with green-state zirconia as needed.
• Perform scanning of models and cases when required.
• Nest cases for milling (experience with MillBox is a plus).
• Collaborate closely with other departments to ensure accuracy, quality, and turnaround times.
• Maintain high standards for consistency, communication, and case documentation.

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Fixed CAD/CAM Designer in a dental laboratory.
• Strong working knowledge of 3Shape design software.
• Experience with implant workflows , including scan bodies and Encode systems.
• Comfortable working in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and quality-focused.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):

• Experience with MillBox nesting software.
• Cross-training in scanning and production workflows.
• Background in full-service lab environments.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Estimated salary: ~$70,000~$90,000/year , depending on experience.
